Soapbox

Terms of service

VERSION 1.2 · EFFECTIVE SEPTEMBER 15, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Relai Group, Inc. They cover both the Soapbox mobile application and the Soapbox developer API. You are agreeing to them now because you are creating an account. If you do not agree, do not create an account.

SECTION 01

Eligibility

You must be 18 years of age or older to hold a Soapbox account. Accounts held by anyone under 18 will be closed when we learn of them, and any developer credentials issued to that account will be revoked at the same time.

Soapbox is offered only to users located in the United States. We do not make the application or the API available outside the United States, and we make no representation that either complies with the law of any other country. If you access Soapbox from outside the United States, you do so on your own initiative and you are responsible for compliance with local law.

If you are accepting these terms on behalf of a company or other organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization, and "you" refers to that organization.

SECTION 02

What Soapbox is

Soapbox hosts live, fan-driven audio rooms about sporting events. A limited number of rooms exist at any one time. A room ends itself and cannot be extended. The service is live only. There is no archive, no playback, and no way to return to a room once it has ended.

We may change, limit, or discontinue any part of the service, including room capacity, room duration, the number of concurrent rooms, and the availability of the API, at any time and without notice. Soapbox is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or licensed by any sports league, team, broadcaster, or athlete.

SECTION 03

Your account and your handle

You must provide accurate information when you create an account, and you must keep it accurate. You are responsible for everything that happens under your account, including anything said on a stage while your account is signed in. Do not share your sign in credentials with anyone else.

Your handle is how you appear on a stage, in a face pile, and beside every message you send. You may not choose a handle that impersonates another person, a team, a league, a broadcaster, or Relai Group, Inc., and you may not choose a handle intended to mislead other users about who is speaking. We may reclaim, change, or retire any handle at our discretion.

You may hold one account. Creating additional accounts to evade a mute, a removal, or a suspension is a breach of these terms.

SECTION 04

Your microphone

Speaking on Soapbox requires access to your device microphone. You grant that access through your operating system, and you may withdraw it at any time in your device settings. Withdrawing it does not close your account, but you will not be able to speak.

When you are unmuted on a stage, your voice is captured by your device and transmitted live to everyone in that room. You consent to that capture and transmission each time you unmute. Mute state is shown in the application at all times, and you are responsible for checking it before you speak.

Do not transmit audio you are not entitled to transmit, including broadcast feeds, commercial music, or the voice of a person who has not agreed to be on the stage with you.

SECTION 05

Nothing is recorded

Relai Group, Inc. does not record room audio. Audio is relayed live and is not written to storage, is not retained after a room ends, and cannot be retrieved by you, by us, or by any developer using the API. When a room ends there is nothing to go back to.

This is a statement about what our systems do. It is not a promise about the conduct of other people. Anyone in a room can hold a second device to a speaker. We cannot prevent that, we do not monitor for it, and we are not liable for it. Treat everything you say on a stage as something a stranger may repeat.

Because nothing is recorded, we cannot review what was said in a room after it ends. Reports about live conduct must be made while the room is live.

SECTION 06

Conduct in rooms

You may not use Soapbox to do any of the following, whether by voice, by handle, or in chat:

These rules apply to everything you transmit through Soapbox, whether you are on a stage, in a face pile, or connected through the API.

There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. An account that breaks this section is removed from Soapbox, and we do not require a pattern of behaviour before acting on a single breach.

SECTION 07

Moderation, mute, and removal

Room hosts and Relai Group, Inc. may mute you, move you off a stage, remove you from a room, or end a room, at any time and without prior notice. We may also suspend or close your account, with or without cause, and we may do so permanently for a breach of Section 06.

You can report a person from their profile, from something they said in chat, or from the cast they are hosting, and you can block them. Blocking hides what they say, keeps their casts off your feed, and keeps the two of you out of each other's rooms. A report names a person and a reason and never quotes anything, because nothing said in a cast is kept.

We act on reports within 24 hours, and we remove accounts that breach Section 06. Moderation decisions are made live and quickly. We are not obligated to provide a review, an appeal, or an explanation, and because nothing is recorded we may not be able to provide evidence of what occurred.

Relai Group, Inc. staff may join a live room to moderate it, and may do so without appearing in the room's participant list. We are not obligated to monitor rooms and we do not do so routinely. Staff who join hear the room live, exactly as anyone in it does. Nothing they hear is recorded, stored, or retained, because the service does not record audio at all, and the same is true of a room a member of staff is listening to.

SECTION 08

Developer access and the API

This section applies in addition to every other section if you request, hold, or use Soapbox API credentials. Subject to these terms, Relai Group, Inc. grants you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to call the Soapbox API for the application you have registered with us.

CREDENTIALS

API keys identify you and are confidential. Store them server side, do not commit them to a repository, do not embed them in a client application or a browser bundle, and do not transmit them to a third party. You are responsible for every call made with your keys, including calls made by someone who obtained them from you. Notify us at hello@3sb.io as soon as you believe a key has been exposed, and we will revoke it.

RATE LIMITS AND FAIR USE

The API is subject to rate limits that we publish and may change without notice. Do not attempt to exceed a limit, and do not use multiple accounts, multiple keys, or distributed clients to obtain capacity beyond what your limit allows. Respect the retry guidance returned in our responses. We may throttle, queue, or reject calls to protect the service.

NO CAPTURE OF ROOM AUDIO

You may not record, buffer beyond what live playback requires, transcribe, store, index, or otherwise archive audio obtained through the API, and you may not build a product that lets a third party do so. You may not scrape, crawl, or bulk collect room contents, handles, or membership, and you may not use the API to train a machine learning model. The absence of an archive is the product. Building one on top of us is a material breach and will end your access immediately.

NO RESALE OR SUBLICENSING

You may not sell, rent, lease, sublicense, or otherwise transfer your access to the API or your credentials, and you may not offer the API to your own customers as a standalone service, a proxy, or a reseller arrangement. You may use the API inside your own application, provided that application is registered with us and complies with these terms.

SUSPENSION AND TERMINATION OF KEYS

We may suspend or revoke any key at any time, with or without notice, including for a breach of these terms, a suspected compromise, a load pattern that threatens the service, or a change to the API. Revocation may be immediate. You are responsible for building your application to fail safely when a call is rejected or a key stops working. Sections 08, 11, 13, 14, 15, and 16 survive the end of your developer access.

SECTION 09

What data we handle

We collect the account information you give us, which is your email address and your handle, and the operational records our systems need, which include the rooms you joined, the times you joined and left, your role in a room, device and connection information, and error logs. Developer accounts also have a record of API calls made with their keys.

We use this information to run the service, enforce these terms, secure the system, and contact you about your account. We do not sell it. We share it only with the vendors that host and operate Soapbox on our behalf, and when we are required to by law.

Room audio is not part of this. It is not stored, so it is not collected, shared, or disclosed, including in response to a legal request.

SECTION 10

Account deletion

You may delete your account at any time from the application, or by writing to hello@3sb.io. Deletion removes your handle and your account record and revokes any API credentials issued to you. It takes effect within 30 days.

We may keep a limited record of the deletion itself, and any records we are required to keep by law, for as long as the law requires. A deleted handle may be issued to another person. There is no room audio to delete.

SECTION 11

Ownership

Soapbox, the Soapbox name and mark, the application, the API, and everything we make available through them are owned by Relai Group, Inc. and are protected by intellectual property law. These terms grant you a license to use the service and nothing more.

You keep whatever rights you hold in what you say. To the extent it is needed to run a live room, you grant us and the other people in that room a non-exclusive, royalty free license to transmit and hear your speech for the duration of that room. That license ends when the room ends, because the audio does not persist.

SECTION 12

Termination

You may stop using Soapbox at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account and your API access at any time, with or without cause and with or without notice. On termination your license to use the service ends immediately. Sections 09, 11, and 13 through 17 survive termination.

SECTION 13

Disclaimers

SOAPBOX IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, RELAI GROUP, INC. DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, that a room will be available, that audio will be delivered without loss, or that the API will remain compatible with your application. We are not responsible for what other users say or do, and we do not endorse it.

SECTION 14

Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, RELAI GROUP, INC. WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF SOAPBOX.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO SOAPBOX WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF ONE HUNDRED UNITED STATES DOLLARS OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM. Some states do not allow these limits, and in that case they apply to the maximum extent the law allows.

SECTION 15

Indemnification

You will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Relai Group, Inc. and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claim, damage, loss, or expense, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of your use of Soapbox, anything you transmit through it, your application if you hold API credentials, or your breach of these terms.

SECTION 16

Arbitration and class action waiver

Read this section carefully. It affects how disputes between you and us are resolved.

You and Relai Group, Inc. agree that any dispute arising out of or relating to these terms or to Soapbox will be resolved by final and binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, and not in court. The Federal Arbitration Act governs this section. The arbitration will be held in the county where you live or by videoconference, at your choice.

YOU AND RELAI GROUP, INC. WAIVE THE RIGHT TO A TRIAL BY JURY AND THE RIGHT TO PARTICIPATE IN A CLASS ACTION, CLASS ARBITRATION, OR ANY OTHER REPRESENTATIVE PROCEEDING. The arbitrator may award relief only to the individual party seeking it. Either party may still bring an individual claim in small claims court.

You may opt out of this arbitration agreement by writing to hello@3sb.io within 30 days of first accepting these terms and stating your handle and that you are opting out. Opting out has no other effect on your account. If the class action waiver is found unenforceable, this entire section does not apply.

SECTION 17

Changes, governing law, and contact

We may revise these terms. If a change is material we will tell you by email or in the application before it takes effect, and we may ask you to accept the new version before you continue. Continuing to use Soapbox after a change takes effect means you accept it.

These terms are governed by the law of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Subject to Section 16, any dispute not subject to arbitration will be heard in the state or federal courts located in Delaware. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. These terms are the entire agreement between you and Relai Group, Inc. about Soapbox, and our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it.

Questions about these terms go to hello@3sb.io.
